Ok, in case people have been thinking that SWTOR.com have been a bit mean with the updates the past few weeks, then you may be frustrated to know that this is going to continue for a couple more weeksto come. On the upside as quoted below this is because of some big updates coming that SWTIOR.com want to get right before the team release what they have to the community.  Below is what Sean Dahlberg of SWTOR.com had to say in the developers thread:

'While we have annouced our target launch window, we also realize there is a lot of information to release between now and then. We met with the development team soon after returning from the holiday break and discussed some of the information we want to release. In going over that, we decided to wait on a few things to ensure we are giving the community the most accurate information possible. We understand that pretty much everyone would love to have all the information about The Old Republic now but we wouldn't be serving the community properly if we told you all about a particular feature or mechanic only for it to be completely different than the way we explained it when The Old Republic releases.

We definitely have some new reveals and announcements coming up but I wanted to inform everyone that our next couple of updates won't be those. And while I'd like nothing better than to tell you what is on the horizon, I can't for the very same reason as I talked about above. We have a plan on what information we want to release and when we want to release it but we always make sure the rest of the team is confident with the information we are releasing before we put it out there.

We know that some of you come here weekly and some even daily no matter what information we release because you enjoy interacting with the community. But we also know that some come here for new information and we want to make sure you get that when it is made available. Here are our suggestions on making sure you know what's going on with The Old Republic if you don't wish to check the forums.

* Sign up for The Old Republic newsletter. Starting this month, we plan on sending them out at the end of each month highlighting any updates that have occurred. We will also send out "Community Alerts" for any major announcements that are released usually within a few hours of that announcement being made.

 * Follow us on some of the more popular social networks where we bring that information to you. We have pages on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and YouTube.

* Get our updates in your RSS Reader. We have RSS Feeds for our News Section, Media Section, and our HoloNet updates.

Like I said, we understand that some may be upset with this news and we definitely encourage getting feedback from the community, to include constructive criticism. We just ask that you read over your posts before hitting "submit" to ensure they are not violating any of the rules and guidelines of this community.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.'

Bit delayed but nonetheless here is  SWTOR.com's weekly update:

'A new holorecord in the Jedi Archive tells the story of the Sith Empire’s surprise attack at the start of the Great War over 28 years before the Sacking of Coruscant. Master Gnost-Dural notes the brilliance of the Imperial military’s carefully orchestrated assault which put the Republic at a disadvantage for the duration of the conflict.

BTC 28 – Centuries after being driven into exile, the Sith Empire returned from deep space to launch the most calculated military assault in Republic history. Strategically revealing its attack in a menacing manner, the Sith struck fear into the hearts of the Republic’s defenders even while orchestrating surprise attacks at carefully targeted locations across the galaxy. When the Republic fleet rushed to respond, they discovered the Sith had established puppet governments on several planets in the Outer Rim. Surrounded by enemies and traitors, the Republic fleet was forced to scatter, allowing the Sith Empire to sweep through most of the Outer Rim without further challenge. The Empire’s initial victories put the Republic at a disadvantage for the duration of the Great War.'

Friday Update from SWTOR.com:

Dromund Kaas, Imperial Seat of Power

Colonized and built upon by the Sith Empire, Dromund Kaas is home to the Emperor and his Dark Council. Almost completely forgotten for over a thousand years, the rediscovery of this world prompted the Sith surprise attacks that plunged the entire galaxy headlong into war. Despite being “off the map” by comparison to more heavily visited planets, such as the training world of Korriban, Dromund Kaas is very much the center of the Empire. Although the Emperor himself seems to have fallen silent recently, his Dark Council may have awakened a dangerous, hidden power within the planet’s jungles and ruins.

Access the HoloNet records to learn more about the mysterious past, and uncertain future of Dromund Kaas. Also, explore Dromund Kaas in this planet flythrough video, and be sure to check out the media section to see the latest wallpapers, screenshots, and concept art!

SWTOR.com Friday Update:

Top Secret: Dossier on the Imperial Agent!

'Who is the Imperial Agent?

The Imperial Agent is the ghost inside the Empire who ensures the people’s loyalty. She could be your neighbor, your lover or your superior officer. When rebellion stirs, she silences or discredits those who commit treason. She’s always alert, always watching for signs of dissent, and with a word, she can consign you to a dark cell for the rest of your life.

The Imperial Agent is the undercover spy who’s earned the trust of powerful individuals inside the Republic. She attends all the best parties, steals the plans of Senators and generals, and knows just what to sabotage and just who to kill to bring whole fleets crashing down around her. When she’s discovered, she’ll disappear with a smile....'

First and most importantly i'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

I don't think I've actaully ever written any news here, so I thought what better time to start than in the New Year! As I'm sure you're all aware, SW:ToR is due to be released this year (Hopefully!) and as a Guild we're looking to expand further and really stamp our mark on SW:ToR. As a result we are re-structuring, interested? Read on...!

We've noticed over the past months that some members we have recruited have not contributed much towards the forums and have been relatively inactive. Therefore, the first main change that we will be introducing is the Trial status. Up to now we have simply let new members become Guild Members, this is no longer the case. When you are accepted into Total Darkness you will now undergo a 2 week trial period, which will allow us all to get a better feel for who you are, decide whether or not you are active and most importantly if you'll fit in or not.

The Clean Up!

As we're introducing this new status, it seems natural that we have a bit of a clean up. That's right everyone, take cover! Over the coming days i'll be contacting the less active people in the guild and come to a conclusion as to their future here at Total Darkness. If I do contact you please don't take it personally! I'm simply making sure that we have a solid base before we continue to recruit.

Job Vacancies!

We will be looking to promote some Guild Members to aid with the day to day running of the guild. We have a few posistions available to cater for these various areas and further information regarding this will be released in the not to distant future!

Site updates!

We appreciate that SW:ToR is still quite far off, therefore in order to create a bit of interest and keep the buzz going we'll be running competitions on a weekly basis. Aside from this we will also be bringing out various site enhancements and features, including the much anticipated user gallery! Aswell as other cool stuff that we're keeping secret for now!

What can you do?

Well, keep up the good work and cross your fingers, legs, toes and arms (I think you get the point) for Beta!

Over at DarthHater.com you will find a short article and dissection of the recently revealed 'Designing the Dark Side' video from SWTOR.com

'After a brief holiday vacation, our dissection of the Star Wars: The Old Republic ‘Designing the Dark Side’ video is now online. We unfortunately cannot credit anyone for the first finds as we did not create the usual thread on the forum for the dissection. We will continually add in new discoveries as we find them, so make sure to keep checking this post. Note: things we mentioned in prior dissections, we do not revisit again in this one. Dissection complete with our Orange Boxes after the jump....

....The first of the images involves facial customization that we saw in our trip to LucasArts. It seems to confirm, at least on the player characters, that we will have similar customization options in the game....'
